A very interesting visit to these three small lochs in Yell. I'd been looking forward to this as Dr Thomas Scott did a survey here in 1896 and listed the species found. The findings were written up in a report to the Scottish Fisheres Board. Dr Thomas Scott worked for the then Scottish Fisheris Board and was based at a hatchery at Nigg, Aberdeen. From what I can make out he visited in 1895, '96, '98, and possibly on more occasions. Scott was accompanied by his brother Andrew Scott, and Robert Duthie, the fisheries officer in Lerwick. Lochs were surveyed for zooplankton in Unst, Yell, Whalsay, Bressay, and on the Shetland Mainland.
